Sparrow and Dove Illustrations
My wife wrote a children's poem many years ago about a sparrow and dove who happen to meet in a tree, got curious and found they liked each other's song, so carried on until a raven broke in, telling them that this mixing of the flocks is wrong. The sparrow and dove refuse to listen, and dismiss the idea of segregation. The raven flies off and the song resumes. I decided to illustrate the poem, using watercolor, pen and ink. I had a lot of fun capturing the emotion of the birds and cows.
